{"id":569,"date":"2017-03-30T07:38:44","date_gmt":"2017-03-30T11:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/?p=569"},"modified":"2017-03-30T07:38:44","modified_gmt":"2017-03-30T11:38:44","slug":"steepedinclutter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/?p=569","title":{"rendered":"Steeped in Clutter &#8211; How I Spend My Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-570 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/CLUTTER-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"197\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/CLUTTER-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/CLUTTER-100x100.png 100w, https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/CLUTTER-600x600.png 600w, https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/CLUTTER-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/CLUTTER-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/peggywbarnes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/CLUTTER.png 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 197px) 100vw, 197px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I spend my days in clutter &#8211; talking about it, looking at it, moving it around, boxing it up, putting it up, donating it, throwing it away, recycling it. \u00a0I spend my days working with people who are surrounded by clutter &#8211; in their kitchens, garages, closets, dining rooms, living rooms, kids&#8217; rooms, bathrooms, dens, attics, offices, and their minds.<\/p>\n<p>I spend my days watching how people struggle &#8211; \u00a0 Do I donate it? \u00a0Where? \u00a0Who could use this? \u00a0Will I need this again? \u00a0I paid so much for that. \u00a0I used to wear\/use that all the time. \u00a0It is still in such good shape. \u00a0I think I&#8217;ll give it away, no, I&#8217;ll keep it, I don&#8217;t know what should I do? \u00a0My husband\/wife says I should just get a dumpster and just start throwing it away. \u00a0I think I&#8217;ll keep this magazine because there was an article I wanted to read. \u00a0I&#8217;ve had that for years and haven&#8217;t used it, but I might start using it now.<\/p>\n<p>I spend my days hearing their stories. \u00a0Hearing how they grew up. \u00a0Hearing how they arrived at this place of clutter and confusion. Hearing how much physical pain they are experiencing. \u00a0Hearing how unhappy they are in their marriages. \u00a0Hearing the grief they are experiencing over losing a child\/a spouse\/a sibling\/a parent\/a friend. \u00a0Hearing how embarrassed\u00a0they feel over being surrounded by the clutter. \u00a0Hearing how they want things to be different, but are unwilling or are not ready to make the choices to do the hard work to get there. \u00a0Hearing the desires of their heart.<\/p>\n<p>I spend my days holding those in pain. \u00a0Listening\u00a0to those who have no one else to listen. \u00a0Caring without judging. \u00a0Walking through their past, their present and visualizing their future. \u00a0Working through their mindset to get to thoughts that will serve rather than hinder.<\/p>\n<p>I spend my days knowing what is in store if they can breakthrough, work through and process through their clutter. \u00a0I spend my days knowing some will never get there and I ache inside. \u00a0I spend my days thanking God for those that do, knowing they are experiencing a freedom they&#8217;ve never experienced before.<\/p>\n<p>I spend my days as an organizer and life coach. \u00a0Those that don&#8217;t have the\u00a0struggles, my clients do, have little patience and understanding for those that do. \u00a0Those that do struggle with the clutter, in their physical surroundings, and in their minds, know the struggle is real. \u00a0Each piece of physical or emotional clutter has to be brought to light, held and a decision made. \u00a0The process can be long and arduous. \u00a0It can take time. \u00a0It can cost money.
